Let's get through this TOGETHER!

Villa Maria, Inc.'s Response to Covid-19

Villa Maria, Inc. closely monitors our communities daily and we are prepared to handle any situations that may arise. Ensuring our residents are cared for in a safe and healthy environment is our top priority. We work closely with our leadership staff and agencies such as The Center for Disease Control (CDC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services (CMS), Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and our local Health Department, who provide senior living communities with the most recent information pertaining to Covid-19, including guidelines and recommendations. Villa Maria, Inc. is committed to providing our residents and families with ongoing, transparent communication, as things can change quickly.

What do we do to help keep your loved ones safe at Villa Maria? We sanitize multiple times per day throughout the community, staff wear PPE as directed by the agencies listed above, test all unvaccinated staff weekly and test all staff (vaccinated and unvaccinated) and residents twice per week during outbreak protocol. We also encourage staff to get vaccinated and offer a vaccination clinic once a month for staff and their families. We have worked closely with our resident families to encourage vaccination for our residents, and are happy to report that 99% of our long-term care residents are fully vaccinated for Covid-19.

Skilled Nursing Facilities, such as Villa Maria are regulated by the federal government, and Assisted Living Facilities, like Maria Court are regulated by the State of Kansas, so our policies regarding visitation may look a little different between campuses.

Maria Court Visitation:

For the most recent visitation policies for Maria Court Assisted Living, please call 316.777.9917.

Villa Maria Visitation:

Villa Maria takes our visitation policy very seriously, as we know how important it is for our families and residents to have the opportunity to spend one-on-one time together. With that being said, we are in an ever changing environment, and therefore our visitation policy may change suddenly to keep our residents as safe as possible.

For In-person visitation, we ask the following:

  • Outdoor visitation is available. We ask that no more than 3 people visit in a resident's room at one time.

  • All visitors must screen in at the front desk to enter Villa Maria at least once per day. Please be sure to answer all questions honestly pertaining to your health status, as it is very important to keep our residents and staff as safe as possible.

  • If you are experiencing any symptoms that could be related to Covid-19, or you are not feeling well, PLEASE DO NOT VISIT AT THIS TIME.

  • ALL VISITORS MUST WEAR A PROPER FITTING MASK AT ALL TIMES IN OUR COMMUNITY. It is required for visitors to wear a surgical or N95 mask while visiting Villa Maria. No cloth masks. Surgical masks area available at the front entrance screening station for your convenience. Please be sure you ask for assistance if needed.

Large Group Visitation:

  • Due to space limitation for large gatherings, we ask that all large group visits (more than 3 people) be scheduled in advance through by calling 316.777.1129 and asking for Nina Collins.

Alternative Communication Options:

During these uncertain times, we are not always going to be able to communicate face-to-face, so we encourage the following when that is not an option:

  • Window Visitation (you may want to schedule these to allow a better interaction opportunity)

  • Scheduled Video Chat

  • Phone Calls

  • Old Fashioned Mail - Cards, Letters, Notes

  • Care Packages - A favorite snack, puzzle book, flowers, magazines, coloring books, colored pencils, etc...will goes a long ways!

  • Snacks (favorite soda, chips, cookies, other goodies)

  • A favorite meal (drop off their favorite, or a home cooked treat)

COVID-19 Updates

Thank you for your interest in the safety and wellness of the residents and staff of Villa Maria and Maria Court.  We take the health and safety of our residents and staff seriously and are following the guidance of the state of Kansas, CMS, and CDC to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.  At this time, we continue infection control measures recommended by CMS, CDC, and our state for high-risk individuals, including sheltering in place, no visitors, wearing masks and maintaining 6 feet social distance.
